Liturgists assist in leading
worship each Sunday. They represent the congregation in
spoken word: giving church announcements, reading
Scripture, and occasionally leading prayers of the people,
responsive readings, and other elements of our worship service. |

What makes a "good liturgist?"
A warm
and confident public demeanor is very important. A
liturgist should be able to think quickly on his or her feet and help
move the timing and shape the mood of
our worship times. Most of all, liturgists should love for the Lord and
have a heart for worshiping Him. All
liturgists at First are members in good standing at First UMC. |
