PURPOSE, METHODS, AND POLICY

The purpose of First Experiences Preschool is to provide enriching experiences for young children through a planned, experiential program that is appropriate for each child’s stage of development. It is to offer a loving, accepting, Christian environment that inspires a sense of self-worth and creativity.

No attempt will be made to convert any preschool child to Methodism. However, First Experiences Preschool at FUMC strives to impart basic Christian attitudes consistent with our beliefs in an atmosphere of forgiveness and love.

Program Methods

First Experiences Preschool at FUMC will provide a program that will support and stimulate growth in all developmental areas: social, physical, creative, emotional, spiritual, and intellectual, as all areas of a child’s development are important. The emphasis will be divided between socialization skills, academic readiness, and creativity.

Enrollment Policy

Enrollment shall be granted without discrimination in regard to sex, race, color, religious or political belief. Enrollment shall be open to any child, provided we can meet the needs of the child. First Experiences reserves the right to discontinue service to families if the director determines the school can not effectively meet the family’s needs. In such case the director will send written notice to the family regarding discontinuation of services. A parent / guardian has the right to appeal the director’s decision to the Preschool Advisory Board whose decision is final.

Ages of Children Accepted

Children must be the age of two years and seven months, on the day they start, three(3) or four(4) years of age by December 2nd of the year enrolled. For the Kindergarten class, children must be five(5) by December 2nd of the year enrolled.
